Re: James Boldosser, Sr.
To Whom it May Concern:
This letter offers my complete support of James Boldosser as he applies for a teaching position. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with James as grade level partners at Waits River Valley School since August of 2014, when he came on board following the loss of a beloved first grade teacher. James came into a community that was in mourning after an unexpected illness took the life of a highly respected veteran teacher. Before working with James, we were not very confident that anyone would be able to fill the shoes of our beloved lost colleague. James immediately changes our minds, and, with his positive attitude, interpersonal skills, sense of humor and professionalism, he gave us all a renewed sense of hope for our future as a recovering staff, as well as for the future of the incoming new first grade students and families.
As collaborating first grade teachers over the past school year, I have also come to see James as a highly motivated and dedicated professional who holds very high expectations for himself, as well as for his students. His ability to connect with individual students, differentiate lessons for them according to their abilities, and help all students achieve individual successes has thoroughly impressed me, as well as our entire faculty.
As I learned of his credentials upon his hiring, as well as in friendly conversations with James, I was also struck by just how much he has already done in various positions—whether volunteer or paid—and what this reflects about his work ethic. He has served in our military, worked overseas as a teacher at an Indonesian International School, owned his own company, published books, worked on various committees, and is now continuing his postgraduate studies, while teaching fulltime. This shows James' unfailing commitment to achieving his goals, while developing himself as a person. And I see this same ideal as one that he wants to pass on to each one of his
students.
In short, it is clear to me that James Boldosser is and will continue to be devoted to his own ongoing education, not only for his own benefit, but also for the benefit of his fortunate students. He continuously strives to help each individual student succeed to the best of his/her abilities. His encouragement and confidence in each student also helps to strengthen their own selfconfidence and sense of achievement, which is so important when passing on a love for learning. James has a kind demeanor, positive rapport with others, determination and work ethic that reminds me very much of my own, and I thoroughly respect what he has done and will do as a teacher.
Thus, I recommend James Boldosser very highly as an outstanding teacher..
Sincerely yours,

To Whom it May Concern:
We have had the pleasure of having Mr. James Boldosser teach our daughter this year at Chelsea Public School in a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade multi-age classroom. Not only do our daughter and her classmates speak very highly of Mr. Boldosser but so do the parents and staff of Chelsea Public School. Mr. Boldosser has consistently been very receptive and open to communication with us regarding any concern or question we have had. He is prompt and thoughtful in his response.
Mr. Boldosser excels in his classroom lessons, successfully teaching children of many different learning abilities and styles. He recognized the need for our daughter to be more challenged beyond the regular curriculum and proceeded to lay out a plan for the year that made sure she was taught to her true potential in all areas of the school day. He did this within the confines of the classroom as well as providing her with differentiated homework. Based on conversation with other parents, Mr. Boldosser did this with all of the students in his classroom; meeting each specifically at his or her level and working with each one to reach his or her full potential at a pace suitable for each individual student. Though this seems like simply the role of a teacher, Mr. Boldosser has gone above and beyond to reach and teach every child in his classroom.
We are also impressed with Mr. Boldosser’s classroom management. He has a way of making the student think about their actions and choices before carrying them out. Often he will share a story that includes a life lesson in it. Students are captivated by the story and come away with a more personal understanding of acceptable behavior. He once shared a story related to bullying, though he did not use that specific word. Our daughter later shared with us the message she got from this story, stating that it is important to always be nice to others and to at least acknowledge others with a greeting, rather than ignoring them. It is obvious that the students respect Mr. Boldosser. While chaperoning a field trip with the 3, 4, 5 multi-age group, I observed this first hand. Some of the students began to take off, leaving the group. Mr. Boldosser simply and calmly said to no one in particular “make the right choice.” It was in a quite non-judgmental voice. My first reaction was to bolt after these particular students because I could not imagine they would stop for “make the right choice.” However, before I could react, they had turned around and rejoined the group. It was definitely not out of fear, but respect. You could see these boys internalize the thought “make the right choice”; and they did.
When I say it was our pleasure to have had Mr. Boldosser teach our daughter it is an understatement. She has had an incredible school year and has grown academically, socially, and emotionally because of this amazing teacher. Mr. Boldosser is a very gifted teacher and any child lucky enough to have him as a teacher will benefit greatly in so many ways. If you have any specific questions I can be reached per below.

To Whom It May Concern,
It is my pleasure to write a letter of reference for Mr. James Boldosser, who served as a Grades 3-4-5 Teacher due to a year-long leave of absence. As Principal, I saw Mr. Boldosser give his best in providing quality lessons and hands on learning experiences to our grades 3-4-5 students.
His strong command in elementary education and the ability to address the needs of each student made him a great teacher. With his focus on helping students understand the material, Mr. Boldosser always strived to incorporate meaningful reinforcement activities and hands on experiences. His creativity, honesty and reliability ensured that he was on good terms with the staff and, more importantly, liked by his students during his teaching assignment with us.
Mr. Boldosser was active in the larger school community having served with other staff members on the technology committee. He also offered to students grades 5-12 an after school club in web design supported by the Friends of Chelsea.
I personally and professionally wish Mr. Boldosser well in the pursuit of his goals. If our school had a permanent full time elementary teaching vacancy I would not hesitate in considering him as a serious candidate for the position. If I can be of any assistance in answering questions regarding James, please do not hesitate to call.

To whom it may concern:
Mr. James Boldosser, Sr. has asked me to write a letter of reference on his behalf. It is my pleasure to write this letter on both a personal and professional level.
I initially met Mr. Boldosser last year during the interview process for the position that he currently holds at the Granite Academy Middle School and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and presentation. He has excellent skills as an instructor in lesson planning, classroom strategies, and progress evaluation and reporting. He excels with his ability to provide alternative and differentiated instruction for students at all levels. Mr. Boldosser has demonstrated that he is not only an effective classroom teacher but also dedicated to his job and often went above his responsibilities to ensure student success.
Mr. Boldosser is a conscientious person that strives to be the best that he can be and meet work expectations above the requirement. I would endorse Mr. Boldosser in employment opportunities at any education facility. He is an extremely ethical professional, and a strong advocate for what he believes is needed to ensure student success. He is very friendly and outgoing, with a sense of humor that makes working with him real pleasure. You simply could not select a more perfect person for a school position. Please feel free to contact at (802) 477-5247 if you have any questions.

Subject: Reference for Mr. James Boldosser
To whom it may concern:
I was Mr. James Boldosser's principal for all of his three years at this International School in Jakarta, from July 2009 to June 2012. This school is a highly reputed school for its high academic standards, its orientation to maintain the local Bahasa Indonesian mother tongue and culture even while in an international setting, and for its Christian ethos. It is a World IB School, with the Primary Years program in the Junior School where he taught. This was a very large and integrated private education system as we are the flagship school of an enormous educational system which includes a university (UPH), five international schools (SPH), a dozen National Plus high-end national schools (SDH), and dozens of local village schools (SLH), the latter which are an outreach to support the very needy while our schools were among the most wealthy.
It has been my privilege to work alongside James as his principal, colleague and friend. He is a mature teacher, though relatively new to the profession. His time management and organization skills are especially well developed. While he is still learning the more specialized type of planning required in schools, he catches on quickly due to these strengths. He is a team player and was valued on committees such as our Eagle Eye Newsletter where he helped to edit the quarterly production. The successes which Mr. James experienced here, are no small accomplishment! James came here as a beginning teacher and grew quickly in his pedagogy and in his general teaching skills including both the art and science of excellent education in the upper elementary school level. As he developed personally, he also began to positively influence those around him to further add strength to our system.
As a teacher, Mr. James exhibited strengths in many areas making him highly competent in his role. He managed his class well, with good routines, and a warm learning environment. James has been developing stronger interpersonal skills which has made him a stronger teacher, and this skill also means that his effectiveness in other spheres of life are improving as well, having excellent rapport with his students. Therefore discipline was not an issue. Students were always ON TASK enthusiastically involved in the lessons which he had planned well, considering the overall syllabus and the needs of the students. He used a multitude of teaching strategies including cooperative learning groups, independent learning and full class instruction. His assessments were thorough and included formative assessments to help guide his teaching and summative assessments for reporting purposes. The structure of the IB Primary Years Program is such that best practice is embedded in the system. This way of thinking and practicing teaching has been part of James's life here. We have an inquiry-based model with collaboration between teachers to promote transdisciplinary units of study. Not only has he developed best practice but he is skilled enough that he can help others develop as well. He was an informal leader last year in his grade group, as he was one of the few remaining teachers in a grade level shuffle. In this capacity he helped colleagues with lessons, ideas, and support related to the complex grade six unit of inquiry which involved a student exhibition. He effectively helped mentor new teachers into this robust system of educational practice. He was constantly trying to improve his teaching and added new and interesting hands-on challenges into the lives of the students here, including more science in the curriculum. A special challenge activity that he did with students extended to weekend rallies of miniature solar car races.
Although his full time job was as a regular classroom teacher, one of his special areas of contribution to the school, both inside his own classroom, and for the benefit of our school, were his technology-related support and ideas. In fact he was on the school technology committee. A school-wide team in which he was involved, developed the use of 'Moodle' using a server at our school. He introduced us to Online Grade-Level Documents for all four of our grades six classes. In a similar way he helped all our Junior School staff use Google docs more effectively in a variety of ways, increasing our efficiency and communication between each other, with students, and with parents, including "online newsletters" and an "online Grade-Level calendar.
As well as his school involvements, he voluntarily worked outside in the community on a committee for disadvantaged children, bringing much of his technological abilities to help enhance the experiences of these students.
In conclusion I would like to say that we would welcome James back to this school system in an instant if he would ever consider returning. He is multi-talented and so could take on many different roles successfully, whether in classroom teaching at the elementary school level, or perhaps soon in leadership. He is a delight to work with, loyal, frank, flexible, intelligent and teachable. I wish him all the best in him future goals and recommend him most highly to any job to which he might apply.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing a letter of recommendation for James Boldosser, who has served as both a short-term and long-term sub in our school. Founders is a grade 3, 4 and 5 school of about 400 students. James was hired to substitute for a ¾ multi-age classroom for one of our teachers for about five weeks, and also was a substitute of choice during the year for other teachers in our school. Thus, I will speak to his qualities as a substitute teacher.
In speaking to teachers who had him as their substitute, the qualities that are used to describe him are as follows: Reliable. Conscientious. Students really liked him. He cares about kids. He is extremely professional. The ¾ multi-age teacher was extremely please upon returning to the classroom to find that there had been a seamless transition, both in terms of taking over, as well as in terms of departure, and he couldn't say enough about Mr. Boldosser's ability in the classroom.
Personally, I know that Mr. Boldosser availed himself of faculty meeting times and other district professional development opportunities whenever possible, in order to learn more about the initiatives in our building and district. He was always pleasant, professional, and highly interested in learning, and participating as much as he could.
I highly recommend James Boldosser for a position in your school.
Sincerely,
Katherine Barwin, Principal

To Whom It May Concern,
I am Marcia Tadjuddin and I worked with Mr. James Boldosser in Sekolah Pelita Harapan International Lippo Village in Indonesia from July 2011 – June 2012. I was the lead teacher of the team of teachers in grade 6, a team that Mr. Boldosser was a member of.
During the period that we worked together, Mr. Boldosser showed professionalism, commitment and initiatives in his roles both as a teacher and as a team player. He was an irreplaceable asset to the team.
As a teacher in grade 6, Mr. Boldosser always displayed good time management and organization. His lessons were well-planned and he often shared lessons ideas, resources and what worked well in his classroom to his fellow grade 6 teachers. He was respectful of deadlines in finishing paperwork and reports, often finishing them well ahead of time.
Mr. Boldosser received an excellent rapport from students and parents. In many occasions, both students and parents expressed how they appreciated the way Mr. Boldosser ran his classroom, delivered his lessons and maintained communication with students and parents regarding assignment deadlines, feedback on students’ work, responses to questions and/or concerns, etc. He was an excellent mentor to his students and many of them grew and prospered under his guidance.
Mr. Boldosser proved to be a valuable asset to the grade 6 team. He had the most experience teaching in grade 6 at the time and during the initial collaborative meetings for every unit, he always offered his insight and knowledge to his team members. He also walked us through the units by sharing his lesson plans, resources, ideas, strategies and tips. He did not hesitate in taking leadership roles in areas where his expertise was needed. This was especially the case during our biggest, culminating unit in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, The Exhibition. He took a lot of initiatives in handling and organizing complex areas of the Exhibition such as putting together the Students’ Exhibition Guide and Workbook and organizing students’ performances in the final staging. Apart from that he was an active and effective contributor to the decisions taken by the team such as determining the Exhibition theme, choosing a theme song, exhibition banner design, field trip locations, etc.
As a team member, Mr. Boldosser helped create a working atmosphere that was positive, supportive, enjoyable and educational. He was a pleasure to work with. His goal-oriented approach has contributed in making the team more focused and more productive. He accepted many volunteer opportunities, such as substituting for teachers whenever needed, and leading meetings, chapels and activities in our grade level. He was dependable in getting tasks done and was reliable in supporting his fellow teachers whenever his help was needed. He looked for and shared ways in making the teaching units better than before. He introduced many new, grade level ideas such as the Solar Car Race, hands-on activities (especially in science), and new Biblical Studies Curriculum (primarily used for the history unit). He also used his expertise in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to improve the effectiveness of parent/student communication. He set up systems for online school documents, online grade-level documents, online newsletters, and online grade-level calendar.
Mr. Boldosser’s contribution to the wider school community was also evident as he was involved in the school’s formal publication, The Eagle Eye Newsletter as an editor. He was also involved in the school-wide technology committee. He co-chaired one of the self-study committee formed to prepare for the school evaluation by the International Baccalaureate. He also contributed in the professional development of the teachers in Junior School by sharing his expertise in ICT. He led training sessions for teachers to use moodle and google docs to facilitate the teaching and learning in the classroom.
With all the qualities that Mr. Boldosser possessed and the excellent results of his work that I have witnessed during the time we worked together, I’m confident that Mr. Boldosser would be a great asset to any employer and I recommend him for any endeavor he chooses to pursue.
Yours truly,

To Whom It May Concern:
It gives me great pleasure to write a recommendation letter for James Boldosser, Sr.I have known James for three years as he has been my mortgage broker through several financial transactions. Although I have only known James through his mortgage company, I feel very confident he would make an excellent educator. He is professional. He has business experience. But more importantly, he wants to go into education for the right reason. He cares about children. He discussed with me a desire to investigate the teaching profession three years ago. So I know he has planned this career change for quite some time. Additionally, we need professionals entering education who come from non-traditional backgrounds.
Another strength James will bring to an educational setting is his experience with math. He is very comfortable with math having been a financial advisor for some time. Most elementary teachers find math to be their weakest subject area. Math is a true strength for James.
Additionally, James is great to work with on a personal level. He is professional, but also has a keen sense of humor which helps create a pleasant working environment. James Boldosser would make an excellent candidate for a teaching position in your school system. Please give James Boldosser strong consideration as he has earned my highest recommendation.
Sincerely,
John J. McCarthy, Ed. D.

To whom it may concern,
I have known James Boldosser since November 1992. During that time I have known him as his supervisor, as his employee, and at a personal level.
As his supervisor in the military he displayed great qualities as a soldier. His work ethic was unrenowned, always on time and stayed focused on the tasks at hand. He consistently displayed above average job performance by completing tasks on time with superior quality, was able to prioritize a multitude of task in fluid environments. He worked to completion of tasks, and not with the attitude of “it’s time for me to go,” leaving jobs undone. He displayed qualities of becoming an excellent supervisor and leader.
This was evident to me when I completed my service and he employed me with the company he managed. He was able to train, and supervise me, as well as others in the company. He communicated clearly and effective the policies, procedures, and techniques required of the job. He delegated, supervised, and improved employees abilities, effectively improve the company as a whole.
As I got to know James personally, I will say that he is a man of true character. He is honest and trustworthy. He will help out with anything he can, and is happy to do so. He is a man that I can count on and I know others can as well.
Sincerely,

To whom it may concern,
I am writing this reference letter on behalf of James Boldosser, Sr. I have known James for over two years. James and his family live in the St. Albans community and are members of Church of the Rock, where I am the Assistant Pastor. James has been apart of our children’s ministries program for over a year and teaches our 5th and 6th grade class on a rotation basis. He loves working with the children and the children respond very well to him in the class setting. James enjoys teaching and is always prepared for class. He is also ready to step in at anytime to teach a class if the need arises. James will also be facilitating an adult education class this fall at our church. James strengths include being a people person, as well as, being organized and structured. He loves learning new things and is continuing is education by taking on line courses. James would make an excellent substitute or full time teacher and any school would greatly benefit in having him part of their faculty staff.
Sincerely,
Rev. Gary F. Cooper
